Our Wynyard Farmers’ Market is one of the most beautiful settings we could wish for – held in the Walled Garden at Wynyard Hall on the third Sunday of every month from 9am to 2pm (or until sell out!)
It’s a place where great food, friendly people and stunning surroundings all come together, and we always look forward to welcoming both our regular visitors and those discovering us for the first time. It’s the perfect way to spend a slow Sunday morning, and we’re dog-friendly, with free parking and free entry to the courtyard where we hold the market.
We’re proud to run this market as part of Northern Dales Farmers’ Markets, a not-for-profit social enterprise that supports local growers, makers and small food producers. Everything you’ll find at our stalls is genuinely local – grown, reared or handmade within 50 miles of Wynyard. Every trader has a story to tell, and every product reflects the passion and care of its maker.
Our stallholders are the heart of what we do – passionate, hard-working local producers who pour their creativity into every loaf, jar, and cut of meat. Many have been part of Northern Dales Farmers’ Markets for years, while others are exciting newcomers bringing fresh ideas and flavours. Every month you’ll find a changing mix of familiar faces and new discoveries.
When you visit, you can expect to find an inspiring mix of:
Wynyard Hall is located just off the A689, a short distance from both the A19 and A1(M), making it easy to reach from across the North East. Whether you’re coming from Stockton, Hartlepool, Durham or Middlesbrough, you’ll find clear signage leading to the estate.
When you arrive, simply follow signs for the Walled Garden – parking is free, spacious and close to the market entrance. Everything is on level ground, so access is easy for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Dogs are very welcome too, as long as they’re on a lead.
A visit to Wynyard is never just about the market – it’s a whole day out waiting to happen. After browsing the stalls, you can wander through the grounds, which are beautifully maintained and bursting with colour throughout the year.
Many visitors enjoy a stroll around the woodland walks or a coffee at the Wynyard Hall café, which overlooks the grounds.
For something extra special, you can even treat yourself to lunch, afternoon tea or Sunday roast in the Wynyard Hall Restaurant, just a short walk from the market.
You could even visit the beautiful Walled Gardens [charges apply]
If you’re visiting from outside the area, Wynyard is close to several attractions — Sedgefield, Billingham, Hartlepool Marina and the Durham Heritage Coast are all within easy driving distance. It’s an ideal stop as part of a weekend away or a countryside escape.
Alongside our regular monthly markets, you can often find regular events, such as the The Northern Bygones Society classic car shows and Flower Power Specialist Plant Fairs
Beyond great food, our Wynyard market is about connection – between producers, shoppers, and the place itself. We’re proud to be part of a growing community of independent businesses that celebrate local produce and craftsmanship. Every purchase here supports real people and their small businesses.

EXCELLENT Based on 13 reviews Posted on Janet NewlandsVerified An excellent morning out, would recommend a visit A memorable visit to a lovely market town, the farmers market had an excellent variety of products to offer and the craft fair was very interesting, also enjoyed the walk on the river side watching the ducklings and looking around the individual shops and found an excellent fruit and vegetable shop, shall be definitely be going to the next onePosted on chris eVerified Great local produce Right in the town centre on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month a great selection of local gourmet scotch eggs , pies , honey , rare breed meats and other tasty things - take a big bag you will need itPosted on Laura TVerified We shall return to stock up on treats - hopefully they'll be even more stalls next time Northern Dales Farmers Market is a travelling farmers market. They run markets every weekend in several locations (once a month to each location); Stokesley, Thirsk, Preston Park, Hartlepool, Wynyard Hall, Stewart Park, Easingwold. The market wasn't as big as we expected, maybe around 15 stalls, but the weather wasn't very good on both of our visits (Stokesley & Stuarts Park) so maybe it was a smaller turn out than usual. Stokesley's Market is right on the high street so could potentially be very busy, but we paid for parking at nearby local supermarket. We shall enjoy returning to the Farrmer's Market a couple of times a year to stock up on treats :-) Gigantic scones, delicious pies, fresh breads, lovely desserts, fresh meats, home-made non-alcoholic wine and a range of flavoured cheeses. Just wish someone there sold fresh olives!Posted on Ian WVerified Great Produce My favourite farmers market, lots of great and interesting produce. Some things are a bit on the expense side but it's well worth it for the quality. Highly recommended.Posted on OldBill2Verified Wish we had one like this! We went to Stokesley last Saturday and were pleasantly surprised by to find that not only was there a Farmers Market on but also a craft fair in what I believe is the town hall. Both were very good indeed and it was a pleasure to see local produce being sold by local people. The farmers market in particular was excellent with fresh fruit, veg, bread, eggs, scones and lots of other things, like chilli plants for sale. All the stall holders were friendly and welcoming and we had a thoroughly nice time. I just wish that our town had a market like this one - it beats the supermarkets hands down. Well done Stokesley !Posted on nmaidwell123Verified Lots of great stalls selling a good range of produce One of the best if not the best farmers markets around. Lots of excellent products available and the stall holders are very welcomingPosted on Colin FVerified Lucky Visit We were lucky to be in the right place at the right time and stumbled on the market. A great display of local wares and food with a great atmosphere and very friendly peoplePosted on ClanClarkVerified Small but perfectly formed Cracking little farmers market. Parked at coop as we bought a few supplies there. Quite a variety as well as the usual fantastic butchers and cheese makers etc. From dog treats to Korean snacks. Not very big, but well worth a potter.Posted on ChristineM50Verified Great variety, quality and taste What a great selection of foods on offer, we always come home with a fantastic array of local produce. Some of our favourites are Pie Jackers, Acorn Preserves, Wreford farm and Labour of loaf. There is also a great selection of brownies, flapjacks, biscuits, ciders and many other tasty items.Posted on Dave JVerified Farmers Market or Craft Market ! Seems to have changed slot over the years and as I understand the originsl rules I cannot see how some of the stalls meet the original rules, having said that it's worth a day out as some of the food stalls are very good and you won't find these foods on your big supermarket shelves. The Stokesley farmer's market is on the high street and always as plenty of stalls and although first impressions you may think items are expensive remember that alot of time and effort goes in to these products.
