Stokesley Farmers’ Market - Mid-Month Edition!

Based on Stokesley High Street, we return for our second visit of the month with our amazing local traders, bringing the very best local produce and high-quality food to the heart of Stokesley.

Whether you need to restock or you missed the market at the start of the month, join us for a full line-up of your favourite traders on the third Saturday of each month in this gorgeous North Yorkshire town.

Slightly smaller than our main Stokesley market, but no less fabulous!

Whether you’re stocking up on weekly kitchen staples or treating yourself to handcrafted artisan goods, our mid-month market delivers the same commitment to local quality you love. Explore a vibrant lineup of independent producers, local farmers, bakers, and makers.

Every third Saturday of the month, we bring Stokesley’s historic Market Place to life with vibrant energy, rich aromas, and the finest independent traders Teesside & North Yorkshire has to offer.

Right in the heart of our town square, we bring together independent growers, master bakers, and local producers who love nothing more than sharing their passion directly with you.

Filling our stalls with everything from Wreford’s Farm meats, Hugill Eggs, and Gleadow’s fresh fish to the amazing Lacey’s Cheese and small-batch Acorn Preserves.

Add in sweet fixes from Butterfold Bakery, The Gingerbread Mam, and Ohh Fudge, plus Dark Star Plants for your garden and Happy Paws Bakery for your pup, and you’ve got the ultimate mid-month top-up right in the heart of town.

We take immense pride in assembling a lineup of traders who care deeply about their craft. From the slow-roasted richness of The Teesside Coffee Co to vibrant global bites from Safari Shack, our stalls showcase incredible regional talent.

When you pick up a rich slice from Absolute Fruitcake, small-batch confectionery from Pure Nougat, or homemade comfort food from Francs’ Fancies and Kay’s Kitchen, every single purchase directly supports independent makers right in our local community.

Traders can change on a monthly basis depending on season and stock availability – get in touch if you’d like to ask about a trader!

Getting Here & Parking

During your visit, explore Stokesley’s charming shops and cafés and take a riverside walk along the Leven & feed the ducks

Stokesley is a picturesque Georgian market town sitting at the foot of the North York Moors National Park, about 10 miles south of Middlesbrough and 12 miles from Northallerton. It’s easily reached by car via the A172 or A173, and there are regular bus services connecting Stokesley to nearby towns and villages.

Parking is plentiful and close to the market:

  • Showfield Car Park (TS9 5AX) – a large pay-and-display just a few minutes’ walk away
  • High Street Parking – free but limited spaces near the square (watch for time restrictions – free disc parking in operation)
  • College Square Car Park – another good option within a short stroll

There’s also level access throughout the market area, making it wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Dogs are welcome too — we just ask that they’re kept on a lead

Make a Day of It

If you’re visiting from outside the area, why not turn your market trip into a full day out? Stokesley is packed with independent shops, cosy cafés, tearooms and pubs — perfect for a relaxed lunch or afternoon coffee.

After the market, take a stroll along the River Leven, or follow one of the nearby walking routes leading towards the beautiful North York Moors. The town often hosts local events, fairs and seasonal celebrations, so there’s usually something extra happening to enjoy.

If you’re staying a little longer, Stokesley makes a great base for exploring the region — you’re just a short drive from Great Ayton, Roseberry Topping, Osmotherley, and some of the most stunning countryside in Yorkshire.

We shall return to stock up on treats - hopefully they'll be even more stalls next time Northern Dales Farmers Market is a travelling farmers market. They run markets every weekend in several locations (once a month to each location); Stokesley, Thirsk, Preston Park, Hartlepool, Wynyard Hall, Stewart Park, Easingwold. The market wasn't as big as we expected, maybe around 15 stalls, but the weather wasn't very good on both of our visits (Stokesley & Stuarts Park) so maybe it was a smaller turn out than usual. Stokesley's Market is right on the high street so could potentially be very busy, but we paid for parking at nearby local supermarket. We shall enjoy returning to the Farrmer's Market a couple of times a year to stock up on treats :-) Gigantic scones, delicious pies, fresh breads, lovely desserts, fresh meats, home-made non-alcoholic wine and a range of flavoured cheeses. Just wish someone there sold fresh olives!

Great Produce My favourite farmers market, lots of great and interesting produce. Some things are a bit on the expense side but it's well worth it for the quality. Highly recommended.

Wish we had one like this! We went to Stokesley last Saturday and were pleasantly surprised by to find that not only was there a Farmers Market on but also a craft fair in what I believe is the town hall. Both were very good indeed and it was a pleasure to see local produce being sold by local people. The farmers market in particular was excellent with fresh fruit, veg, bread, eggs, scones and lots of other things, like chilli plants for sale. All the stall holders were friendly and welcoming and we had a thoroughly nice time. I just wish that our town had a market like this one - it beats the supermarkets hands down. Well done Stokesley !

Small but perfectly formed Cracking little farmers market. Parked at coop as we bought a few supplies there. Quite a variety as well as the usual fantastic butchers and cheese makers etc. From dog treats to Korean snacks. Not very big, but well worth a potter.

Great variety, quality and taste What a great selection of foods on offer, we always come home with a fantastic array of local produce. Some of our favourites are Pie Jackers, Acorn Preserves, Wreford farm and Labour of loaf. There is also a great selection of brownies, flapjacks, biscuits, ciders and many other tasty items.

Farmers Market or Craft Market ! Seems to have changed slot over the years and as I understand the originsl rules I cannot see how some of the stalls meet the original rules, having said that it's worth a day out as some of the food stalls are very good and you won't find these foods on your big supermarket shelves. The Stokesley farmer's market is on the high street and always as plenty of stalls and although first impressions you may think items are expensive remember that alot of time and effort goes in to these products.
