Stewart Park Famers Market

We’re excited to welcome you to Stewart Park Farmers’ Market, held on the last Sunday of every month from 9am to 2pm at Stewart Park, Middlesbrough. It’s a beautiful setting – in the courtyard at the centre of this lovely park – it’s one of our most vibrant and popular events, with over 30 local stallholders joining us each month.

We hand-pick each stallholder so that everything sold is made, grown, or reared by the person trading – no resellers.

When you visit, expect a variety of traders including:

The market has a fabulous family-friendly feel – and you can really make a morning of it. It’s family & dog friendly and the perfect way to get some Sunday fresh air Sunday outing.

Getting Here, Parking & Access

Stewart Park is a large, beautiful public park of about 120 acres in Marton, Middlesbrough. The entrance to the market is via Ladgate Lane (postcode TS7 8AR).

There’s free parking available within Stewart Park when the market is on  – as well as no entry ticket or admission fee. We aim for everything to be accessible: stalls are set out in the tarmac courtyard. Dogs are welcome, but we politely ask they’re kept on a lead.

If you’re coming from further afield (or even just nearby), Stewart Park provides more than just the market. With mature woodland, open parklands, the Visitor Centre, and paths winding through the park, there are lovely spots for a walk either side of your market visit.

If you’re feeling peckish, there are usually refreshments on site – coffee stalls and plenty of stalls to pick up a treat- ideal for a casual breakfast or early lunch. Bring comfortable shoes: whether you’re browsing stalls or exploring the park trails, you’ll want to take your time.

Practical Tips & Why Visit

  • Arriving early gives you the best selection, especially for popular stall items that tend to sell out.
  • The market runs until 2pm or until stalls are sold out – sometimes the exact closing depends on how busy things get.
  • Bring a tote or basket – you’ll need it for your goodies!
  • Because everyone here is local, you can ask questions – about how something is made, grown, when it was harvested – it’s part of what makes the experience so genuine.

Things to Do & Explore Nearby

Because Stewart Park is a large, well‐loved public space, there’s a lot more than just stalls to enjoy:

  • The park includes woodland areas, open lawns, mature trees, the Captain Cook Museum and beautiful views. It’s perfect for a leisurely stroll before or after your market visit.
  • If you’ve got time, the Visitor Centre often has interesting exhibits or café options.
  • For families, the surroundings are ideal: plenty of space for kids to run, play, explore safely, plus a large playground!
